What a ban means for the name
- The profile shows as unavailable, but the account still exists.
- The owner may appeal and come back with the same name.
- TikTok does not offer a request form for a banned user's name.
What to do
- Try the handle in Edit profile, then Username, every few weeks.
- Choose a short fallback now, such as the same word with one added letter.
- If the banned account posed as you or used your registered mark, a report may still fit. See short TikTok usernames.
Avoid
People who say they can release names from banned accounts. TikTok does not sell or hand out usernames.
