WHY ROUTES MATTER
Rare handles are
defended by their holders.
Short handles are often held by early accounts, and Instagram will not remove a handle from an account that follows the rules. That makes the route decision the whole job.
A mark
A registered trademark that matches the handle opens the intellectual property route.
An identity
Impersonation applies only if the account is pretending to be you or your business.
A violation
An account that breaks the Community Standards can be reported. The handle does not come to you automatically.
