Why results disagree
- A deactivated or banned account keeps its name but shows no profile.
- Some names are held by the platform and never shown.
- A name can be freed and taken again between two checks.
The real test
- Open Edit profile in the app.
- Type the name in the username field.
- Read the message the app shows. Do not save unless you want the name.
- Repeat on TikTok and Snapchat.
Red flags
- The site asks you to log in with your social account.
- It asks for a login code.
- It offers to reserve a taken name for a fee.
- Someone messages you later offering the name.
